Digital Video Editing
Wondering what to do with those video tapes shot during different occasions over the years, but now sitting on the shelf back there only collecting dust?
This week, my group and I played with the Digital Video Editing Tools. We produced "Educast at a Glance" video. We captured this video directly from a camcorder to the computer. We edited it, added cool titles, filters and transitions. It was amazing. This experience was inspiring. Easy-to use digital videos editing software programs and fast computer hardware, there is no reason one can't produce Hollywood like videos at home and show it to friends. Importantly, teachers can utilize DVE to provide a learning environment that is more appealing and engaging. Students can produce and edit a talent show, a booktalk, safety videos, etc.
This site has great lesson plans that could be adapted to use with different video creating/editing software.
